Description:
Firebug Decontamination system utilizes pressurized water applied through extended wands and nozzles to rinse contaminants from all surfaces of contaminated victims and EMS personnel. The contaminants are collected in the Firebug pond and ground sheet and then disposed or stored in appropriate containers.
Purpose:
To safely and quickly provide a system for gross decontamination of contaminated victims and/or EMS personnel.
Definition:
Decontamination: the process of removing or neutralizing contaminants that have accumulated on personnel and equipment.
Responsibility:
Incident Commander (or designate): The incident commander (or his/her designate) will be responsible for conducting all decontamination procedures.
